End of Dreams – Kim Faulks – A review

Okay, before we even get started, I feel as though I need to give you a warning! Kim Faulks was NOT joking when she put her Authors note at the start of the blurb for this book! It is dark, it is cruel, and there are some very harsh situations, so please if you are soft at heart, do yourself a favour and turn away now!

For everyone who is left, get ready for the horror book of your dreams!

Author note: Be warned, this novel is a dark read, filled with cruel characters and harsh situations. This book is not for the feint-hearted.
She’s on the run from vicious murderer.
He’s prepared to risk it all, for one last shot at the killer who got away.
A young woman and a hard-bitten detective are trapped in the middle of a paranormal war they never knew existed.
Their only hope of survival is a group of immortals called, The Family and an unborn son, a child who will forge a new world… if only he can survive.

If you read nothing else this year, you absolutely have to read this book! Right from the beginning you just know that End of Dreams is going to be one of those horror/suspense books that you want to skip to the end of, just so you can see what happens. Just so you can be put out of the misery of wondering what is going to happen to the characters.

As for the characters, they are deep, they are complex, they are as real as any book characters can be. Not all are human, but Kim Faulks has you believing that they are real nonetheless! Although completely and utterly unhinged, dangerous and dark, Edrich is my favourite character, and Kim has captured his personality perfectly.

Kim has a way with descriptions that I have never seen in all my years as a reader. She has you feeling as though you are right there within this world of mystery, horror, and fear! I was left cringing, crying and just wanting more!

As I said earlier, this is a very dark read, but it’s one you are going to want to read! The more you read, the more you want! I will say though, if you are one of those mothers who can’t stand to read or watch anything that involves children being in the firing line… DO NOT OPEN THIS BOOK! Otherwise, read it, read it again, and then pass it along to your horror loving friends!
